Siento verdadera admiración por la arquitectura icónica y escultural, sin que por ello tenga que dejar de ser sostenible. / I feel real admiration for the iconic architecture and sculptured, without necessarily having to stop being sustainable.

Para elaborar un buen artículo hay que documentarse muy bien y luego intentar escribir de forma bella; la fotografía aporta gran valor al trabajo y lo embellece enormemente. La experiencia me ha hecho ver que la belleza en arquitectura tiene que ver con los medios materiales y técnicos de cada época. Puedo citar numerosos edificios que se podrían considerar enormes esculturas que acogen a las personas. Realmente son esculturas en sí mismas, sólo que construidas a una escala gigante. Como decía el gran escultor moderno Constantin Brancusi, "La verdadera arquitectura es la escultura". / I can cite numerous buildings that could be considered huge sculptures that welcome people. Los tiempos han cambiado y hoy en día se erigen confortables rascacielos en las ciudades más desarrolladas. / The architecture is important. Hay que reconocer que Vermeer hizo mundialmente famosa a su doncella, la joven con perla. Hay arquitectos de décadas pasadas de los que tan sólo me gustan dos o tres obras. Sin embargo, hay otros más recientes de los que me puede llegar a gustar toda su obra. Este punto de vista resulta un poco injusto si tenemos en cuenta que en la actualidad los medios materiales y técnicos han mejorado considerablemente con respecto a épocas anteriores. Esto demuestra que el tiempo en el que vivimos influye sobremanera en nuestra percepción y gusto por la arquitectura. / There architects of the past decades that I only like two or three plays. La obra Cupido y Psiqué de Antonio Cánova, me parece una de las esculturas más tiernas y bellas que jamás haya visto. Viajé a Barcelona en Julio de 2010 y fotografié, entre otras obras, las Torres Porta Fira de Toyo Ito. Al regresar, entusiasmado, y después de procesar las imágenes, me puse a escribir sobre ello. Esta obra, una de las últimas más importantes construidas en la ciudad de Barcelona, fue publicada por mí en el blog unos meses después en 2011. El arquitecto, sin haber hecho nada por esta publicación, ha sido ampliamente recompensado por este hecho; cualquier persona puede ahora conocer esta obra desde cualquier lugar del mundo. Aparte de diseñar buena arquitectura, la finalidad de un buen arquitecto, aparte de por supuesto satisfacer al cliente, radica en dar a conocer su trabajo y que su obra salga publicada en los distintos medios de publicación especializados. / I traveled to Barcelona in July 2010 and photographed, among other works, the Porta Fita Towers of Toyo Ito. Algunos proyectos de planificación urbana me han sorprendido. Me pasó con el Jay Pritzker Pavilion de Frank Gehry, que construyó en la ciudad de Chicago, para el que también diseñó una pasarela peatonal que une el enorme campus con la Plaza Daily Bicentenario. En el caso concreto de esta obra, y aunque todos los elementos arquitectónicos de la obra conforman un todo, me gustó más publicar el artículo enfocado en el escultural puente serpenteante que describiendo la totalidad del conjunto. / Some urban planning projects have surprised me. Reconozco que al principio me costó bastante aceptar el arte de Fernando Botero. Después de leer algunas de sus interesantes entrevistas y volver a ver su extenso trabajo, hoy puedo decir que su obra me parece realmente bella y admirable. / I admit that at first I had a hard time accepting the art of Fernando Botero. Considero que el espectacular skyline que forman los 15 moáis del Ahu Tongariki en la Isla de Pascua es uno de los mejores iconos de la historia del arte. Asimismo, el Moái Ko Te Riku, localizado en el Ahu Tahai, muy cerquita de Hanga Roa, es una de las estatuas más famosas y representativas de la isla. / I consider that the spectacular skyline that form the 15 moais of Ahu Tongariki on Easter Island is one of the best icons in the history of art. Para poder apreciar la verdadera magnitud y dimensión real de algunos de los rascacielos históricos construidos en la ciudad de Nueva York, Flatiron, Metropolitan Life Insurance, Woolworth, 40 Wall Street, Chrysler o Empire State, entre otros, que se convirtieron en los más altos del mundo -durante el primer tércio del siglo xx-, se hace inevitable recuperar las fotografías antiguas de la época, ya que hoy en día estos edificios se entremezclan con los nuevos y no tan nuevos edificios postmodernos de la ciudad, formando parte del interesante colectivo mundial de rascacielos. / To appreciate the true size and actual size of some of the historic skyscrapers built in the city of New York, Flatiron, Metropolitan Life Insurance, Woolworth, 40 Wall Street, Chrysler or Empire State, among others, who became the highest world-during the first third of the twentieth century is inevitable recover old photographs of the era, and today these buildings are interspersed with new and not so new postmodern buildings of the city as part of the collective interest world of skyscrapers.

Siempre hay dos o tres obras imprescindibles de cada artista. / There are always three essential works by each artist.
