Aunque de la sensación de que se trate de un platillo volante, el arquitecto Oscar Niemeyer (1907-2012) se inspiró en la metáfora de "una flor" para el diseño del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Niterói. Emplazado en lo alto de un acantilado en una zona auténticamente privilegiada de la Bahía de Guanabara en Niterói, frente a Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, el MAC Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Niterói que fue inaugurado en el año 1996, se ha convertido junto con la Catedral de Brasilia y el Palacio de la Alborada, en una de las obras más importantes y representativas de este famoso arquitecto.
