El Trump International Hotel & Tower se erigió espléndido en el número 401 de North Wabash Avenue, justo en el solar donde se encontraba antiguamente el Chicago Sun-Times, un edificio de pequeñas dimensiones en altura que esta considerado como el segundo periódico más importante de la ciudad de Chicago. La Trump Chicago Tower, como así también se la conoce en todo el mundo, se encuentra localizada en un punto estratégico al final de la entrada del río Chicago, ya que se puede divisar gran parte de la fachada desde numerosos puntos de la ciudad. La torre ha sido diseñada por el prestigioso Arquitecto Adrian Smith, autor del Burj Dubai entre otros, y que perteneció a la importante firma de arquitectos auténticos especialistas en el diseño de rascacielos en todo el mundo, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, SOM.

La figura del espectacular edificio está formada por cinco módulos de forma irregular con retrocesos a diferentes alturas y terminaciones curvas a ambos lados, con las que no sólo se ha conseguido iluminar de forma natural el interior del edificio, sino que además se consiguió ganar así espectaculares vistas en todas las direcciones a la ciudad; estos módulos ayudaron en gran medida a desahogar el edificio mediante tres importantes terrazas que pueden ofrecer un servicio de urgencia en caso de posible incendio. La superestructura del edificio está compuesta por un esqueleto de hormigón armado que cuenta con 98 plantas residenciales y un Hotel de lujo.

La preciosa fachada está formada por un sistema de muro cortina con una estructura mixta de acero y aluminio anodizado en la que destaca el color verde del vidrio translúcido / The beautiful facade is formed by a curtain wall system with a mixed structure of steel and anodized aluminum which highlights the translucent green glass

En el primer módulo se encuentra el Hall de entrada, un Club de Spa y un Restaurante en la parte superior. El segundo módulo aloja las Suites del Hotel Guest con 339 habitaciones. A partir de la planta 29 hasta la 89 se distribuyeron los 489 apartamentos de diferentes categorías y tamaños. La Trump Chicago Tower ocupa en la actualidad el puesto número 10 de la lista de los 100 rascacielos más altos del mundo elaborada por el CTBUH Consejo de Edificios Altos y Hábitat Urbano; también es el segundo rascacielos más alto de Norteamérica, de los Estados Unidos y de Chicago.

The Trump International Hotel & Tower was erected splendid in the number 401 North Wabash Avenue, right on the site where once stood the Chicago Sun-Times, a small building in height is considered the second most important newspaper Chicago. The Chicago Trump Tower, as well as it is known around the world, is located at a strategic point at the end of the entrance to the Chicago River, as you can see much of the facade from many parts of the city. The tower has been designed by renowned architect Adrian Smith, author of the Burj Dubai and others that belonged to the important architectural firm of real specialists in the design of skyscrapers worldwide, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, SOM.

The figure of the spectacular building consists of five modules of irregular shape with different heights and setbacks on both ends curved sides, which not only has been achieved naturally illuminate the interior of the building, but it also managed to win so spectacular views in all directions to the city, these modules helped greatly to relieve the building by three major terraces that can provide an emergency service in case of possible fire.
