La famosa Torre Agbar está inspirada en las formas rocosas de las Montañas de Montserrat, que se encuentran situadas a unos 50 Km. al noroeste de Barcelona; también en el agua y en el color azul del mar mediterráneo, junto con el importante legado arquitectónico que nos dejó nuestro genio Antoni Gaudí. El edificio acoge el registro de oficinas de la Compañía de Aguas de Barcelona (AGBAR) más un auditorio para 316 plazas, una planta destinada a cafetería, varias salas polivalentes y un mirador. La planta del edificio esta compuesta por dos cilindros ovales no concéntricos coronados por una cúpula de cristal y acero, a través de la que se consigue ventilar el edificio mediante una doble piel de vidrio y hormigón, reduciendo enormemente el gasto energético en aire acondicionado.

Las diferentes oficinas se distribuyen a través de 31 plantas diáfanas y en torno al primer anillo interior del edificio. Este núcleo central, que se revistió con nada menos que 59619 lamas de cristal transparente y translúcido, es donde se encuentran alojados todos los servicios mediante la circulación vertical de los ascensores, las escaleras de emergencia y las instalaciones. Son nada menos que 4500 las ventanas que componen la fachada vanguardista y de preciosas coloraciones. Esta conformada a base de chapas de aluminio lacado de cuarenta colores distintos, predominando los colores rojo, verde, azul y gris, y que dan la sensación de ir descomponiéndose a medida que van ascendiendo hasta la cima.
El arquitecto francés Jean Nouvel dispuso una doble marquesina con perfiles metálicos y vidrio para señalar en gran medida el acceso principal por el que se accede a la majestuosa torre a través de la transitada Avenida Diagonal de Barcelona / The French architect Jean Nouvel ordered a double garage with metal and glass to point to a large extent the main entrance that provides access to the majestic tower through the busy Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona
La Torre Agbar se ha convertido en un ejemplo de arquitectura verde y ecológica, en la que no sólo no se han empleado materiales contaminantes en ella, sino que además consigue aprovechar todos los recursos naturales respetando así el medio ambiente que la rodea. El Auditorio para 316 plazas en el que predomina el color rojo, se encuentra alojado bajo la rasante de la calle. Mediante la doble piel exterior innovadora formada por la cúpula de coronación y las 4349 aberturas de las que dispone la preciosa fachada, se consigue refrigerar enormemente el edificio.

The famous Torre Agbar was inspired by the rock formations in the mountains of Montserrat, which are located about 50 km northwest of Barcelona, also in the water and the blue Mediterranean Sea, along with the significant architectural legacy let our genius Antoni Gaudi. The building houses the offices of the record company Aguas de Barcelona (Agbar), plus an auditorium for 316 seats, a plant to café, multipurpose rooms and a veranda. The floor of the building is composed of two non-concentric oval cylinders topped by a glass and steel dome, through which air is achieved by building a double skin of glass and concrete, greatly reducing the energy consumption in air conditioning.

The different offices spread across 31 open floor plans and the first ring around the building. This central core, which is overlaid with nothing less than 59,619 lamas translucent and transparent glass, is where all services hosted by the vertical movement of the elevators, emergency stairs and facilities. They are no less than 4500 windows that make up the front cutting edge and beautiful colors. This formed the basis of lacquered aluminum sheets forty different colors, predominantly red, green, blue, gray, and give the sensation of rotting as they climb to the top.
La Torre Agbar has become an example of green architecture and ecology, in which not only polluting materials are used in it, but also gets use of all natural resources and respecting the environment that surrounds it. The auditorium for 316 seats in the predominantly red color, is housed in the grade of the road. Through innovative double skin exterior dome formed by the 4349 coronation and the openings available to the beautiful facade, you get extremely cool the building, thus the air naturally circulates throughout the building.
