Localizado en el distrito de Lingya Ch'u, en Kaohsiung, Taiwan, el Tuntex Sky Tower o Torre del Cielo se diseñó en honor al carácter chino “kao”, que significa “altura”. El edificio se erigió espléndido sobre un tejido urbano existente de pequeñas dimensiones al que se le dio un uso enteramente mixto, dotándole de diferentes plantas destinadas a oficinas, apartamentos residenciales, un centro comercial y un hotel desde la planta 36 a la 70; también una plataforma de observación y mirador en la planta número 75 desde la que se divisa una vista panorámica de toda la ciudad de Kaohsiung. El inusual rascacielos se ha convertido en todo un auténtico icono arquitectónico indudable para esta ciudad debido a su curiosa y sorprendente figura oriental.


Conocido mundialmente también con el sobrenombre de T & C Tower (The Tuntex Chien-Tai Tower), o Tuntex 85 Skytower, debido a las 85 plantas de las que dispone, ofrece un servicio de 54 ascensores ultramodernos que viajan a una velocidad de algo más de 10 metros por segundo / Known worldwide also nicknamed T & C Tower (The Tuntex Chien-Tai Tower), or 85 Tuntex Skytower, due to the 85 plants that have, offers 54 lifts service systems which travel at a speed of more 10 meters per second






La enorme fachada está compuesta por un sistema de muro cortina en la que se ha hecho el empleo del vidrio translúcido en diferentes tonalidades de colores verdosos combinados con otros motivos en granito. El diseño interior del Tuntex Sky Tower está formado por una superestructura mixta combinada de hormigón y acero. Mientras tanto, la composición exterior del edificio se presenta mediante un módulo base horizontal muy sólido desde el que a modo de pedestal, arrancan dos bloques de 35 pisos separados entre sí dejando un espacio vacío en el medio; estos dos bloques verticales quedan unidos por un segundo módulo horizontal que continua hasta la cima alcanzando los 348 metros de altura arquitectónica.


El sorprendente rascacielos fue diseñado por la prestigiosa firma de arquitectos C. Y Lee & Partners a través de la empresa Chien-Tai perteneciente al Grupo Tuntex, y ostentó el record como el edificio más alto de Taiwan hasta que fue inaugurada la famosa Torre de Taipei en el año 2004 / The stunning skyscraper was designed by the renowned architect C. And Lee & Partners through the company belonging to Chien-Tai Tuntex Group, and held the record as the tallest building in Taiwan until he was inaugurated the famous Tower of Taipei in 2004






Una de las particularidades de este interesante rascacielos desde el punto de vista estructural y arquitectónico, es que cuenta con un espacio abierto en medio del edificio con el que, aparte de haber reducido su masa cumpliendo así una importante función estática, ofrece de esta forma menor resistencia frente al fuerte viento. El edificio cuenta en la actualidad con las habitaciones de hotel más altas del mundo por detrás de la Rose Rotana Tower en Dubai y la Torre Jin Mao en Shanghai. El Tuntex Sky Tower se encuentra en el puesto número 20 de una lista muy importante elaborada por el CTBUH Consejo de Edificios Altos y Hábitat Urbano con Sede en Chicago, que recoge el ranking de los 100 edificios más altos del mundo. Las 85 plantas que conforman la fachada vanguardista y de preciosas coloraciones, hacen de este increíble rascacielos un edificio fuera de lo común.

Located in the district of Ch'u Lingyan in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Tuntex Sky Tower and Sky Tower was designed in honor of the Chinese character "kao" which means "high". The splendid building was erected on the existing urban fabric that small was given a completely mixed use, providing it with different floors for offices, residential apartments, a shopping mall and a hotel from the ground 36 to 70, also a observation deck and gazebo at the plant number 75 from which you can see a panoramic view of the entire city of Kaohsiung. The beautiful facade, which is dominated by green color through the translucent glass has a structural height of 348 meters without the antenna that crowns, they are 378 meters in height which owns the building if we have the antenna traditional motifs that crowns / La preciosa fachada, en la que predomina el color verde gracias al vidrio translúcido, cuenta con una altura estructural de 348 metros sin contar con la antena que lo corona; son 378 metros de altura total la que posee el edificio si contamos con la antena de motivos tradicionales que lo corona



The massive facade is composed of a curtain wall system which has made the use of translucent glass in different shades of green colors combined with other motifs in granite. The interior design of Tuntex Sky Tower superstructure consists of a combined mixed concrete and steel. Meanwhile, outside the building composition is presented through a very solid horizontal base module from which as a pedestal, they pull two 35-storey blocks apart leaving an empty space in the middle, these two blocks are joined by a vertical horizontal second module continues until reaching the top 348 meters high architecture.



One of the interesting features of this skyscraper from the standpoint of structural and architectural, is that it has an open space in the middle of the building which, apart from having reduced mass providing an important function static, thus offering lower resistance to strong winds. The building currently has the highest hotel rooms in the world behind the Rose Rotana Tower in Dubai and the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai. The Tuntex Sky Tower is located at number 20 in a very important list compiled by the CTBUH Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, based in Chicago, which reflects the ranking of the 100 tallest buildings in the world. The 85 plants that make up the facade of modern and beautiful colors make this incredible building skyscrapers out of the ordinary.
